The mobile app is what you actually use on race day. It runs the plan you built on the web — pacing, fueling, gear, checkpoints, alerts — fully offline.

Install

Search Absurd Running in the App Store, or open the link from absurdrunning.com on your iPhone and tap Get.

Use the same account you signed up with on the web. Your routes and plans sync automatically.

Download a plan for race day

Plans run online by default, but you’ll want to download them for race day so they keep working without signal.
1

Open the plan

From the Plans tab, tap the plan you want to run.
2

Tap Download

The plan details + map tiles for the route get saved locally to your phone. Map tile download takes longer than the plan itself — start it before you leave the house.
3

Verify offline

Toggle airplane mode on. Open the plan again — everything still works. Toggle airplane mode off.

On race day

  • Open the plan when you start running.
  • The app shows you which segment you’re on, your target pace, what to eat, what to wear at the next checkpoint, and what’s in your drop bag.
  • Per-checkpoint alerts fire as you approach each one.
  • No notifications repeat — if you miss one, you’ll see it in the timeline.

Things to know

  • Battery: keep your phone in low-power mode and screen brightness low. The map view is the biggest power draw.
  • Watch integration: Apple Watch and Garmin support is in progress. For now, alerts come through your phone.
  • Updates: keep the app on the latest version before race day. Updates ship frequently and the plan format may evolve.
